A. Founder, Chancellor & Visitor

At the helm of AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin University (AATU) is its visionary Founder, Chancellor, and Visitor, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin, a distinguished entrepreneur, philanthropist, and education advocate with a lifelong commitment to excellence, innovation, and social transformation. With deep roots in community development and a passion for human capital advancement, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin established AATU as a beacon of accessible, inclusive, and world-class education in Nigeria. His leadership reflects a rare blend of business acumen, cultural insight, and unwavering belief in the power of education to change lives and societies.

As Founder, he provides the strategic vision that guides the university’s mission to develop competent, ethical, and future-ready graduates. As Chancellor, he symbolizes the unity, dignity, and institutional authority of AATU, presiding over major ceremonial occasions and serving as a bridge between the university and its wider stakeholders. In his role as Visitor, he ensures that the university remains anchored in its founding values of integrity, service, innovation, and excellence.

The Board includes: Prof. Popoola Ademola Oladapo, an accomplished academic and administrator with decades of experience in higher education development. Prof. Angela Freemanmiri, former Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, an educationist and a researcher of international repute, known for her advocacy for inclusive learning. Prof. Umaru Alhaji Pate (Kaigamma of Adamawa), a distinguished communication scholar and current Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Kashere, Gombe, recognized for his contributions to public discourse and university governance. Shehu Ahmed Moyosore, Esq., a respected legal practitioner, with outstanding and sound legal insight and governance experience. draising and endowment plans.

B. Board of Trustees: Integrity, Prestige, and Vision

The Board of Trustees, chaired by Hon. Justice (Dr.) Isa Ayo Salami, OFR, CFR, a renowned jurist and former President of the Court of Appeal, exemplifies integrity, ethical stewardship, and public trust. His leadership anchors the Board’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all matters relating to donor funds and institutional development.

C. Governing Council: Innovation, Policy Depth, and Stakeholder Engagement

The Governing Council, led by Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, the former Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete and the University of Abuja, a widely respected scholar and administrator with an extensive track record in transformational university leadership, brings innovation, strategic planning, and operational excellence to AATU. Other members of the Council include: Hajia Halimatu Yusuf, a distinguished civil society leader with strong grassroots and gender advocacy networks. Alhaji Kamaru Ibitoye Yusuf (Kamwire), a prominent industrialist and philanthropist with a long-standing commitment to educational advancement in Nigeria. Mr. Adam Nuru, a seasoned banker and financial strategist, whose insights strengthen AATU’s investment and financial sustainability strategy.
